The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), under artistic director and conductor Gil Rose, presents its 8th annual "Boston ConNECtion" concert on Saturday, January 21. BMOP is one of the few professional orchestras in the United States dedicated exclusively to performing and recording music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Since its founding in 1996, BMOP has programmed 46 concerts of contemporary orchestral music, including 37 world premiere performances, released ten world premiere recordings, and won eight ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project, under Artistic Director Gil Rose, has been honored with an Award for Programming of Contemporary Music, offered by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and the American Symphony Orchestra League. The awards will be presented on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the ASOL's 60th National Conference in Washington, DC.

The Awards for Adventurous Programming, initiated by ASCAP in 1959, recognize American orchestras whose programs demonstrate a strong commitment to the works of contemporary composers.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) will celebrate renowned composer Bernard Rands's 70th birthday with a free performance of his Canti Trilogy at 8pm on November 5, 2004 as part of the 27th annual Festival of New American Music (FENAM) at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS). The concert also marks the Arsis Audio release of BMOP's world premiere recording of Canti Trilogy. BMOP is one of the few professional orchestras in the country dedicated exclusively to performing and recording music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
