Beibei Wang is a virtuoso percussionist who has been rising meteorically in the classical music world.

She is an international soloist with both a Chinese and British musical education background, receiving double Master Degrees at Central Conservatory of Music (China) and Royal Academy of Music (UK). Her debut recital live DVD was released in 2011. Beibei was selected in the top fifty Chinese musicians recommended list in the “Sound of East” project by China Ministry of Culture in 2013. Recently, she was awarded Exceptional Talent by Art Council England.

She tours around the world and performs worldwide with numerous elite conductors, orchestras and artists. Her musical sensibility of Chinese heritage and Western avant-garde influences serve her mission to challenge herself in every concert. By exploring new possibilities and challenging assumptions from all fields, she and her collaborators have developed genre-defying projects, pushing boundaries and delighting audiences the world over.

In 2009, Beibei made her debut with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, performing the UK premiere of Tang Jianping's marimba concerto, Sacred Fire, at Barbican Centre, following her successful international debuts with Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra dell’ Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Philharmonic, MDR Leipzig, China Philharmonic, and Orchestra della Toscana. Beibei was featured as the percussion soloist in Grammy- and Oscar-winner Tan Dun’s organic music trilogy—Water, Paper, Earth. She played the world premiere of Earth Concerto at the 2009 Grafenegg Festival in Austria with Kristjan Järvi and Tonkünstler Orchestra.
